TIM Barstool by Timothy Yee
An Authorial Study in Linear Discipline, Interlocking Joinery, and Solid Timber Restraint
Design Provenance: Architectural Balance & Pure Form
Conceived in authorial collaboration with designer Timothy Yee, the Tim Barstool translates the discipline of architectural post-and-beam construction into an honest, functional seating sculpture. Rejecting decorative excess, the design celebrates rectilinear timber planes, subtle corner-edge radiuses, and the raw character of full solid ash wood. Every junction represents a calibrated study in equilibrium grounded, minimal, and built to age with lasting dignity.
Interlocking Timber Joinery
Precision-machined mortise-and-tenon connection points hand-finished to a smooth radius, showcasing seamless structural integration without exposed hardware.
Hand-Selected Grain Flow
Solid European ash components are individually grain-matched to highlight natural cathedral growth rings and organic wood variations beneath low-sheen protective finishes.
The Signature Aesthetic
Conceived as both functional high counter seating and a collectible studio furniture piece, the Tim Barstool bridges residential island dining with boutique hospitality lounges. Its contoured timber seat slab and integrated footrest rails offer relaxed physical support, while its disciplined profile maintains open architectural vistas across modern interior living zones.
